Educational Philosophy
As an educator, I believe that my purpose is to inspire, motivate and help grow each unique individual learner to reach their full potential in my subject and content area. Students learn best when they are challenged, engaged within the content and given a range of pathways to grow in and assess their understanding and knowledge. All students desire a learning environment that has a specific high standard of communication, classroom expectations and guidelines in order to thrive.
We also need to nurture a welcoming, friendly, engaging and safe classroom environment that cultivates a respect for one another’s background and perspective. My ideal classroom is one that is diverse in both the students that exist in it and within their thought processes. I firmly believe that equity and inclusion must be woven into the fabric of everything that we do within the educational process. Without it, there will be students who will naturally get left behind.
